Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about working with DCS — what we do, who we do it for, how it works, and what it costs.

How fast does DCS turn around a file?

48–72 hours from receipt of a complete file. If we need clarification, the clock pauses while we wait for your response. Contractors have 48 hours to respond before the file loses its queue position.

How are files priced?

Flat rate per file based on the scope of work. No percentage-of-recovery fees, no retainers, no subscriptions. Roofing, siding, interior, large loss, and fire/smoke each have defined rate cards. Rush processing is +$75 on supplement files.

Does DCS contact my carrier, adjuster, or homeowner?

No. Ever. DCS delivers every file to the contractor. We do not contact carriers, adjusters, or homeowners under any circumstance.

Do I need Xactimate to work with DCS?

No. Roofing and trades contractors do not need Xactimate — DCS produces the complete carrier-ready file for you. Restoration contractors typically already have Xactimate; DCS provides overflow supplement writing capacity.

How does the volume discount work?

For restoration contractors, cumulative annual files earn tiered discounts: 25+ files = 10% off (Active), 75+ = 20% off (Preferred), 150+ = 30% off (Partner). Annual review resets on January 1.

Will DCS write a mold scope?

Only with a third-party IEP (Indoor Environmental Professional) protocol. No exceptions. This is enforced at the portal level for contractor and homeowner protection.
